1. Who you are dealing with
hoppir is operated by [Registered company name] ([registration number]), a company registered in South Africa with its address at [address]. By creating an account or buying credits you agree to these terms.
2. What hoppir is
hoppir is a marketplace. We sell you credits and let you spend them to reserve a place in classes run by independent partner studios. The class itself is delivered by that studio, not by us: they set the schedule, the instructor, the standard of the facility, and their own rules of entry. We are responsible for the booking, your credits and your payment.
Credits only ever buy admission to real, in-person classes at partner venues. hoppir does not sell, stream or provide on-demand or virtual class content.
3. Credits
- Credits are a prepaid means of booking classes on hoppir. They are not legal tender, cannot be exchanged for cash, and cannot be transferred to another person.
- Credits bought as a top-up do not expire. They stay in your wallet until you spend them or close your account.
- Credits included in a monthly pass roll over from one period to the next for as long as the pass is active.
- Credits included in a short-stay visitor pass expire when that pass ends. This is shown to you on the pass before you buy it, and it includes credits refunded to you from a class cancelled after the pass has ended.
- The credit cost of a class is set by the studio and displayed on the class before you book. It does not change between the moment you see it and the moment you book it.
4. Bookings, cancellations and no-shows
When you book, the credits leave your wallet and the seat is held for you. hoppir applies one cancellation rule at every partner studio: cancel more than 24 hours before the class starts and the credits return to your wallet in full. Cancel within those 24 hours, or fail to arrive, and the credits are spent — the studio has held a place you did not use. The window is the same everywhere on hoppir; individual studios do not set their own.
If a studio cancels a class, your credits are returned to your wallet in full.
5. Passes that renew
A monthly pass is a subscription. It renews automatically each month and charges the card you saved until you stop it. You can stop renewal at any time from the app, effective at the end of the period you have already paid for — you keep the credits you have paid for. If a renewal payment fails we will retry it and tell you; no new credits are added until it succeeds.
6. Payment
Prices are in South African rand and include VAT where applicable. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store your full card details. Buying credits or a pass through hoppir is a purchase of services consumed in person at a physical venue.
7. Your consumer rights
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, including any right to cancel a transaction within a cooling-off period where that Act applies. Where a term here conflicts with a right that cannot be contracted out of, that right wins.
8. Using hoppir properly
- Use your own account, and don’t let anyone else use your QR code to enter a class.
- Follow the rules of the studio you visit — their entry requirements, safety instructions and equipment rules apply to you as if you had booked directly.
- Don’t attempt to interfere with the booking system, obtain credits you haven’t paid for, or scrape the service.
We may suspend or close an account that abuses the service, and where we do we will tell you why.
9. Your health
Exercise carries risk. hoppir does not provide medical advice and cannot assess whether a class is suitable for you. Speak to a doctor if you’re unsure, and tell the instructor about injuries or conditions before class.
10. Our liability
We are liable for the parts we control: your credits, your payment and your booking. We are not liable for the conduct of a partner studio, the quality of a class, or injury sustained during one, except to the extent the law does not allow us to exclude that liability.
11. Changes and contact
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you we will tell you before it takes effect, and continuing to use hoppir afterwards means you accept it. These terms are governed by South African law.
